Experienced and dependable Purchasing Agent. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the tooling, materials, manufacturing, or industrial supply industry and understand the importance of accuracy, organization, and meeting deadlines.
The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for purchasing materials and supplies, communicating with vendors, tracking orders, and ensuring the company has the necessary materials to support daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Purchase tooling, materials, supplies, and other items needed for daily operations
• Request and compare vendor quotes, pricing, availability, and lead times
• Create and process purchase orders accurately
• Follow up with vendors regarding order status, backorders, and delivery dates
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
• Verify quantities, pricing, part numbers, and order details
• Communicate with internal departments regarding material needs and delivery schedules
• Help resolve discrepancies involving pricing, quantities, damaged materials, or incorrect shipments
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
• Manage multiple purchase requests and priorities at the same time
• Perform additional administrative and purchasing duties as needed
• Tool Room Supervision & Inventory Control
• Evaluate used tooling for restock , refurbishment or scrap
• Manage the external resharpening process
• Tool Vending Machine maintenance

Qualifications

• Previous purchasing or procurement experience required
• Experience within the tooling, materials, manufacturing, machining, or industrial industry strongly preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment
• Strong computer and data-entry skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate professionally with vendors and internal team members
• Dependable with a strong attendance record
• Must demonstrate good work stability and a consistent employment history
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple deadlines
